Student living should be more than just functional—it should be vibrant, inspiring, and full of energy. That was the vision behind the TKC Student Accommodation project in Pretoria, where the design team set out to create a space that balances practicality with personality.

The refurbishment embraced a bold and bright theme, using high-contrast colours and playful shapes to inject life into the common areas. A classic checkerboard floor tile grounds the design, while colourful graffiti-style walls add a youthful, dynamic edge. Together, these elements create a backdrop that feels both modern and expressive—perfectly suited to student life.

Furniture choices were equally intentional. The space features:

• Rocket Wave modular sofas that can be reconfigured for group study, socialising, or relaxation.
• Cocoon mobile ottomans offering flexible seating and storage, encouraging students to adapt the space to their needs.
• Durable finishes and ergonomic designs that ensure comfort and longevity, even in high-traffic communal areas.

The result is a student accommodation environment that is not only practical but also celebrates creativity and community. By combining bold design elements with functional furniture solutions, TKC has created a space where students can feel at home, collaborate, and recharge. This project demonstrates how thoughtful design can transform shared living spaces into vibrant hubs of connection and inspiration—a true reflection of student culture.
